"L'arte per l'eccellenza della cura" ("Art for the excellence of care"), a venture born from the idea and commitment of a large group of artists, is part of the project "Il tempo è prezioso" ("Time is precious"), launched by Apro Onlus (Association for the study and treatment of digestive system diseases) in September 2018.

The project, which will continue until 2020, was created with the aim of raising funds to support the study, research, prevention and therapy of this pathology that has a growing incidence: pancreatic cancer represents the fourth cause of death among the various cancers known in industrialized countries and is expected to become the second by 2030.

In the approach to this disease, time is fundamental and it is not by chance part of the name of the project: 40% of cases are discovered when the cancer is already in an advanced stage, 20% of them is operable, but only 3/6% of people survive more than 5 years since the diagnosis.

Apro's ambitious goal is to contribute to a turnaround. For this reason, the funds raised will be invested in supporting information on the disease, prevention work and in strengthening and purchasing new technologies.

Thanks to the collaboration and generosity of 47 artists from the Reggio Emilia area who donated their own masterpieces to the Association and to some Companies, including Ognibene Power, a showroom has been set up. There you can see the works of art that will contribute to the fundraising.

The sense of belonging to one's own community of origin is what connects the artists, who have joined without hesitation to the initiative, allowing the art to become the vehicle of a message of hope in the context of an aggressive and difficult disease such as the pancreatic cancer.

The exhibition will be open to the public until March 31st 2019 at the following times: Tuesday / Wednesday / Friday / Saturday from 10.00 to 12.30 and from 15.30 to 19.00.
